Conventional Fire Detectors and Supplies
Description
Fire detectors function is to automatically and at an early stage recognize hazardous fires to enable the crew to take firefighting measures. Fire detectors have different detection characteristics which have to be considered during the planing of a fire detection system:
Optical Smoke Detectors Intruding smoke activates an alarm in this detector. It is sensitive to smoke as it arises from smouldering fires even without flames.
UV Flame Detectors Ultraviolet rays as from a flame will actuate an alarm in this detector. It is suitable for fires with only light smoke emission as from most burning liquids.
Thermal Detectors A thermal detector is senitive to either a certain maximum temperature or a rate of rise of temperature. It is used in enviroments with e.g. steam like in the galley, laundry or sauna.
We have different detector bases for installation in accommodation and machinery spaces available. Special intrinsically safe detectors and bases can be mounted in areas where explosion-proof is compulsory as e.g. battery rooms and paint stores. We would be pleased to be at your service with consulting and planning of a fire detection system that will fit your requirements.
