Technical Lighting
Lighting at sea on board of seagoing vessel is subject to special operational conditions. Depending on shipping routes and type of vessel special light fixtures have to be used e.g. searchlights with stand-by heating for polar regions or explosion proof light fixtures on board of tankers.
On deck watertight lamps of stainless steel are required as they are permanently subject to extreme conditions like sea water as well as UV-radiation from the sun. Special light fixtures, operative even in very low temperatures are beeing used for illumination of cold stores and freezers and emergency lights with back-up batteries indicate escape routes and save life.
